Brendan is an experienced, well-connected trade finance professional with over 30 years’ expertise in structured trade, syndicated loans, and loan distribution, particularly in emerging markets. As Co-Chair of ITFA Americas Advisory Board since 2022, he promotes best practices in trade finance, shares market intelligence, and mentors the next generation of practitioners. He previously served as President of ATFA (now ITFA Americas) for two terms, growing membership to over 100 institutions and establishing the organization as a leading voice in Americas trade finance.
Through his consultancy BJH Insights, Brendan provides market insight and advisory services on global loan and trade finance markets, focusing on pricing and market practices. His career includes senior roles at Bank ABC (Head of Financial Institutions & Distribution), Wells Fargo (Director of Distribution for Financial Institutions), Standard Chartered Bank (Director of Syndications for 10 years), and London Forfaiting Company. He has spoken and moderated at numerous industry events and maintains an extensive network of clients and partners across the Americas and globally.
Brendan holds a Master’s degree in School of Oriental and African Studies (“SOAS”) from University of London and a Bachelor’s degree from University College London.
